DynamoDB DAO

A simple data access object for Amazon's DynamoDB using promises.

Installation

npm install anrim-dynamodb

API

Create client

DynamoDB.create(options)

Creates a client aws credentials in options. Returns db client.

var db = DynamoDB.create({
    key: process.env.AWS_KEY,
      secret: process.env.AWS_SECRET
});

Define table

db.table(name, schema, [options])

Defines a table with schema. Returns DataTable.

// Define users table
db.table("users", {hash: "id"}, {
    id: {type="string", required: true},
    name: {type="string"},
    created: {type: "date"},
    roles: {type: "array"},
    images: {type: "object"}
}, {hash: "id"});

Get table

db.table(name)

Returns DataTable instance. Returns DataTable.

Create item

table.put(data)

Saves data to db. Returns promise.

    name: "Me",
    created: new Date(),

Get item

table.get(key)

Get data by key(hash + [range]). Returns promise.

Update item

table.update(key, data, options)

Updates data by key (hash + [range]). Returns promise.

options

  • getAfterUpdate - boolean default false

Delete item

table.delete(key)

Delete item by key (hash + [range]). Returns promise.
