jilla is a Jira client for lazy people.
Install node.js. Then, in your shell:
$ npm install -g jilla
$ jilla JIRA URL: https://jira.atlassian.com/ Username: Password: Internet Proxy (leave blank if you don't know): Good to go!

Assign a ticket to a user

Jilla currently stores your JIRA credentials as plaintext. Use a password for JIRA that you don't use anywhere else. You can secure your credentials by issuing the following command on linux:
chmod 700 ~/.jilla
