Installation

via npm:

$ npm install mlog

Log Providers

1. Console
2. Mongo
3. Null

Configuration

With default provider configuration:

var logConfiguration = {
    level: 'INFO',
    loggers: {
        'console': true
    }
}

To override default provider configuration:

var logConfiguration = {
    level: INFO,
    loggers: {
      mongodb: {
        db: 'logdatabase',
        host: 'loghost'
      }
    }
}

With multiple providers:

var logConfiguration = {
    level: 'INFO',
    loggers: {
        mongodb: true,
        'console': true
    }
}

Full Example

var logger = require('mlog');
 
var logConfiguration = {
  level: 'INFO',
  loggers: {
    'console': true
  }
};
 
var log = new logger(logConfiguration);
 
log.info('Test info log');
log.error('Test error log with stack trace');

Notes

Log levels

EMERGENCY: 0
ALERT: 1
CRITICAL: 2
ERROR: 3
WARNING: 4
NOTICE: 5
INFO: 6
DEBUG: 7

For ERROR and below:

• if no instance of Error is logged, then the logger will get the current stack trace
• if an instance of Error is logged, the stack trace from the respective Error is used
• if multiple instances of Error are logged, the stack trace from the first Error is used

//no instance of Error passed, the logger attempts to capture the stack trace
