node-ipinfodb

A simple, very thin node.js wrapper for http://www.ipinfodb.com.

Usage

In case you did not already, register with IPInfoDB here first and take note of the API key they will assign to you.

A straight forward example in node.js is below. Remember to replace [your API key] with the above key.

var API_KEY = "[your API key]";
var ipinfodb = new (require("node-ipinfodb"))(API_KEY);
ipinfodb.getMyLocation(function (err, results) {
  console.log(results);
});

Note the brackets around require("node-ipinfodb"), the code won't work without! Below is the same in CoffeeScript:

API_KEY = "[your API key]"
ipinfodb = new (require("node-ipinfodb"))(API_KEY)
ipinfodb.getMyLocation (err, results) ->
  console.log results

Alternatively to the getMyLocation(callback) function, you can use getLocation(ipAddress, callback) and specify the IP address yourself.
